Art is like Love, unless it is shared, and viewed by others and appreciated, it has no mutual return, it is empty and hollow, and lonely.

Hibiscus,is what my brother calls them too. Could be I guess, the book I have calls them Swamp Rose. Either way I'm glad to see their growing on the river islands too now. I think it's a good sign, there seems to be more plants blooming out there the Eagles and White Pelicans are back also. There is an Island here called Pelican island, but until about 5 years ago I don't remember ever seeing a pelican. Anyhow I'm hoping it all means the River is getting less polluted.

Thank you, the water lotus and lillies have just started blooming here. The swamp Roses at least as far as I know are kind of new around here. What with the Eagles and White Pelicans returning to the upper Mississippi River, I'm hoping it all means it's getting less polluted

What a beautiful floral composition,
and very interesting to read the different names.

They are also called Rose Mallows, Swamp Rose, Hardy Hibiscus, When hybridized, Southern belle hibiscus. I was only referring their technical name. Just so you'ld know....... :-)

Anyway, Yes it would be nice if the rivers would all be clean....... it will take some time though, they didn't get filthy over night! :-)

The book I have isn't the best, it list like one name and that's it. Some things I can't even find in there, the picture they have of a hibiscus in the book looks more like a day lilly to me. May be time to invest in a better book I guess LOL

I wasn't taking your comment wrong, This old dog has been learning lots of new stuff on here and loving it!
