I Like the subject, those ice pics are really impressive! and they really stand out of the background, because of the contrast. Seems like you handled perfectly the speed & aperture controls: there is just enough light entering your camera to emphasis the ice clarity, but not to much so we can still enjoy the subtile details of the ice texture.

I think their is a way you could have improved the Aesthetic of the composition. The ground in the foreground distract our eyes away from the subject. By lowering your view point angle, and getting closer to the subject. there would be less ground visible in the lower part of the picture. it would have given you the possibility to keep a bigger portion of sky above the trees (especially on the left). By doing so, the subject (your ice picks) wouldn't be this much centered, and the picture would have more punch. But overall, it's a good looking picture. like it!
