 As I opened the image I knew instantly that it was one of yours!!! We've been seeing some on the Wisconsin River in the Lake Wisconsin area. A few evenings ago I was so immersed in photographing a small butterfly that I missed a large flock of White Pelicans flying over my head.

I managed to wander within about a hundred feet of them. They keep a watchful eye on me, but I think they're starting to get use to the nut who gets out of his boat and tries to sneak on them knee deep in the mud flats to take pictures of them.

Mothers meeting... I wonder what the gossip is. :giggle:

I think they were discussing that nut standing knee deep in the mud flats with a camera, when he had a perfectly good boat to sit in.
:iconpapatheo:
;) I'd keep my eye on you too Tony... anyone sneaking through mud flats needs careful watching!!!

Thank You. Actually they are standing on what is normally a sand bar they roost on at night. But due to the high river levels, it's covered with about 6 inches of water. It kind of acted like a mirror, being smoother then the running water.
:iconjanejayne:
it certainly looked that way thanks for information....
